Get ready to see the world from a completely different angle — literally upside down! This is one of my favourite places to bring visitors because it's so completely, delightfully absurd, and yet somehow it perfectly captures something true about modern Penang. Welcome to the Upside Down Museum, near 1st Avenue Mall area. And yes, everything you're about to experience is literally flipped — rooms designed upside down, gravity-defying furniture, perspectives that make your brain hurt in the most wonderful way possible. Picture walking into a bedroom where the bed is attached to the ceiling, the wardrobe is on the ceiling, the nightstand and lamp are on the ceiling. You lie down on what appears to be the floor, but it's actually positioned so that in photographs, it looks like you're sleeping on the ceiling, like the entire world has flipped and you're somehow defying gravity. Then you move into a kitchen where the stove is overhead, the dishes are stacked on what should be the walls, the refrigerator is somehow above your head. It's completely illogical, utterly impossible, and absolutely hilarious when you try to interact with it. Then there's the living room, the bathroom, multiple rooms all inverted,...
